  Skyman....it takes a big man to admit when he's the one with the problem. Good for you. I can't for the life of me figure out why folks who have been lied to their whole life won't take the time to objectively challenge EACH and EVERY assumption they made about religion, society, and "moral" values. We all look back at ourselves in "the troof" and ask "How could I have been so foolish"? Can't they see that by holding to old axioms they are still being foolish. We all must strive to overcome our own inherent bigotries the WTBS instilled. Bastards. Don't let them win by living your life in a small and insignificant, closed minded way. Life's too short.

  Yet imagine yourselves in the minority if gay people were the majority. Most of my gay friends think straight sex is nasty and gross. What if they chose not to want to "deal" with your lifestyle since it's gross?
  
  There are alot of things that gross me out about the opposite sex even though I'm not gay. Yeast infection!?! Ick!
  I'm sure women aren't too jazzed up about the thought of jock itch.
  
  What ya'll are saying is that because you find a yeast infection gross you can't accept a woman for who she is. It's gross and evil. See how silly you look?
  
  This is just ONE study that has been done. Another more in-depth study was done here in Michigan, but I'll have to ask my gay buddy where the link is again.....
  
  A study that appears to reveal a major cause of homophobia was completed at the University of Georgia in 1996. It involved 64 white men between the ages of 18 and 31, none of whom had engaged in homosexual acts during their lifetime. Their sexual fantasies involved only women. 35 of them were rated homophobic; 29 non-homophobic.
  
  For the purpose of this study, "homophobia" was defined as a negative emotional reaction (e.g., fear, anxiety, anger, discomfort) to male homosexuality. It was measured by a questionnaire called the Index of Homophobia. Each was shown three types of X rated videotapes: heterosexual, homosexual female and homosexual male. A device measured the circumference of their penis as a gauge of sexual arousal.
  
  The two groups exhibited similar arousal when they viewed 4 minute samples taken from one heterosexual and one homosexual female movie. But they responded differently to the male homosexual clip:
  
  Homophobic men: Insignificant 20%, Moderate 26%, Definite 54%
  Total aroused: 80%
  
  Non-homophobic men: Insignificant 66%, Moderate 10%, Definite 24%
  Total aroused: 34%
  
  Although the plethysmograph doesn't lie, the homophobic subjects did, denying to the researchers (and perhaps themselves) that they were aroused. The researchers concluded that these data are consistent with the belief that most homophobic men have repressed homosexual desires.
  
  So you homophobes that have "issues" with homosexuality, guess what? It's YOUR problem.

  i never thought i would do one of those infamous goodbye i cant take this board anymore posts where the person shows up again a week later and looks like an idiot.

  when i had enough of this board and needed a little break i would just quietly leave for a few months and hopefully nobody noticed.

  that is not the case this time.

  Sorry to hear that MS has gotten a grip on you. I hope you are getting the best medical care possible.
  
  I printed out your story on your trip to Bethel. It hangs on my wall right now. While I only had a short trip to Bethel your letter really summed up the pieces / parts I saw for myself, yet could not write into such eloquent words myself. I plan on using it in the future with my family.
  
  Thank you. May you achieve enlightenment and inner peace or whatever spiritual axioms you believe in. My thoughts go out to you and your family.

  Dependence and US addiction on Foreign Oil

  the president said in the state of the union that the us must wean itself off imported oil/energy - this has to be positive and no matter what ones politics all must agree with this surely?

  We have the answers right here, right now. However, no one wants to "pay" anything. Bush hasn't asked American's for any sacrifice. Bush has in 4 of his previous State of the Union addresses mentioned oil, yet has done nothing. Of course the same can be said about all the Prez going back to Carter and the last true oil crisis.
  
  Doing NOTHING while saying new technology is right around the corner to save us from ourselves is just plain inane. Notice Bushboy didn't once call for higher CAFE standards, the only proven method of driving up MPG rates. An oil man in the white house will bring us only more of the same. Did you really think anything else would come of him? Please.

  i recently had a discussion with a witness friend (i'm a secret) and she claimed that witnesses only get disfellowshipped for being unrepentant for immoral acts.

  i am curious to know from those who have been disfellowshipped, what was it for?
